THE NEW DONATION APP VAKOVAKO IS LAUNCHING. IT IS FROM PRAGUE AND AIMING FOR THE WHOLE WORLD

The Czech financial group STARTEEPO launched the mobile donation app VAKOVAKO in January, after two years of development. The app removes the most common barriers that prevent people from donating, offering a frictionless experience with no transaction costs for non-profit organizations and maximum convenience for users. The application targets the global market and is already available for download to more than one billion users worldwide.

The VAKOVAKO app brings the world of giving through mobile phones literally into every pocket. The project aims to significantly simplify support for both global and regional non-profit projects and organizations, especially for people who have little or no experience with donating, or who do not trust it.

“VAKOVAKO targets a completely new market. We want to reach new good-hearted people for the non-profit sector—people who are still afraid or do not know how and where to help. Our world faces many serious problems every day, which we want to bring closer to a broad audience in a rational and efficient way, and thus give everyone the opportunity to regularly learn about these issues and financially help address them,” describes the VAKOVAKO project its founder and owner of the STARTEEPO Group, Frantisek Bostl.

The project removes barriers such as minimum donation amounts, allowing users to donate from as little as CZK 1. Users can choose from 5 global areas of support and 15 verified global non-profit organizations, which they can support either with a one-time donation or a recurring contribution.

“Distrust in target non-profit organizations or insufficient awareness is a very common barrier to donating. Our app therefore offers only carefully vetted and transparent organizations from around the world that belong among the best and most responsible,” says Bostl. Users can conveniently support well-known non-profits such as Orangutan Outreach, Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, Ocean Alliance, Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), and many others.

SMART AND EFFICIENT HELP

For users who do not want to think about individual organizations, but only about areas of support, VAKOVAKO also offers an automated solution that redistributes donations on behalf of the user.

“For example, to effectively support rainforests, users can simply set a donation for the Rainforests category, and the app then works entirely on your behalf, with your donations being directed each month to where they are needed most,” adds Bostl.

100% FREE OF CHARGE

VAKOVAKO does not bring any costs to either its users or the recipient non-profit organizations. All operations are managed and financed by STARTEEPO together with its Foundation Fund 2091. STARTEEPO also covers transaction fees, which are minimal thanks to the technologies used.

“Sending five hundred crowns across the world like this is actually an expensive affair, and non-profits are losing huge percentages on transaction fees or currency conversions. However, VAKOVAKO has a solution that reduces these often extreme costs to effectively zero,” says Bostl.

A BILLION-DOLLAR MARKET

Since its launch, VAKOVAKO has been a global project, and the app is today available to more than 1 billion people. The primary language is English, and donations are supported in euros, US dollars, British pounds, as well as Czech koruna. At the same time, the Czech Republic serves as a pilot incubator for regional scaling of the project. Within VAKOVAKO, users can operate in Czech koruna and in the Czech language, and support not only global but also selected Czech projects.

“Gradually, we intend to expand language versions and onboard additional global and regional organizations in Europe and worldwide, so that every person can use our app to support both global and local projects relevant to them,” outlines Bostl. “Very soon, new features will also be added, which should gradually transform VAKOVAKO into a universal financial and civic platform, where users will access entirely new financial, investment, and payment services as they have never known them before, and where they will be able, for example through petitions and other non-financial tools, to positively influence events at home and around the world,” he concludes.
